Howard McKenzie
Chief Engineer and Executive Vice President Engineering, Test & Technology

Howard McKenzie is the chief engineer of The Boeing Company and executive vice president of Engineering, Test & Technology. He leads the Boeing Engineering function of more than 64,000 engineers worldwide and oversees design, development, test and certification of Boeing’s products and services as well as the company’s technology vision and strategy. His responsibilities also include engineering design for product integrity and safety of Boeing’s products and services. His organization is an incubator for businesses that will define the future of urban, regional and global mobility. McKenzie is a member of the company’s Executive Council.

During his Boeing career, McKenzie held a variety of roles across the company, including vice president and chief engineer of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, vice president and chief engineer of Boeing Global Services and vice president of Boeing Test and Evaluation. Previously, he served as vice president and chief project engineer for the 777 program, where he was responsible for product integrity and safety for the 777 worldwide fleet.

McKenzie joined Douglas Aircraft Company, now part of Boeing, in 1987 as an engineering intern.

McKenzie holds numerous technical awards and patents and is an active member of the educational STEM community. He also serves as the Boeing executive focal for the University of California, Berkeley.

McKenzie has a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
