Celebrating more than a century of growth in the Evergreen State.
Celebrating more than a century of growth in the Evergreen State.
Boeing is committed to being the leader in aviation and innovation by offering airplanes and services that deliver superior safety, design and efficiency. Many of our most innovative products are designed and built here in Washington, and we owe this success in no small part to the talent and community support of people in Washington state – thank you!
The Boeing Company began in Washington more than a century ago and today we are the largest private employer in the state, with nearly half of our global workforce located in the Puget Sound. Boeing’s dedication to the region is clear with major facilities located in Everett, Renton, Auburn, Frederickson and beyond.
While Boeing is best known for our products and people, we are also keenly focused on improving the communities where our employees live and work. Through purposeful investments, employee engagement and thoughtful advocacy efforts, Boeing and our employees support innovative partnerships and programs that include improving access to education resources, workforce and skills development, and supporting our military and veteran communities.
This website is a home for stories about our commitment to this state, the environment and the good work being done every day by our hundreds of partners in the local communities around us. If you’d like to learn more, sign up here to receive periodic Boeing in Washington newsletters.
Our past, present and future is inextricably intertwined and Boeing is committed to enhancing the Washington communities where nearly half of our employees live and work. The Boeing Company made its first charitable contribution in 1917 when a gift from William E. Boeing helped the University of Washington build the state’s first wind tunnel. More than a century later Boeing, our employees and retirees contribute more than $50 million annually to approximately 200 Washington organizations dedicated to improving the lives of people in this state. Please view these stories to learn more about some of the partnerships that Boeing and our employees are so deeply proud of.

Here in Washington, Boeing and our employees feel privileged to be able to contribute to the success of more than 200 non-profit organizations in the state. In 2016 Boeing, our employees and retirees contributed more than $50 million to community organizations, and donated more than 250,000 volunteer hours. Additionally, more than 100 Boeing executives serve on non-profit boards throughout the Puget Sound region.
Please spend a few minutes viewing the videos on this page. You will hear directly from some of our valued partners as they share stories about the important work their organizations are committed to performing, and how their efforts are making the Puget Sound a better place for all of us.
