Boeing directly employs more than 5,500 talented people across Europe. Over 2,000 people in Germany, Poland, Sweden and The Netherlands advance Boeing’s digital aviation technologies.

The company has delivered 4,600 commercial aircraft to more than 130 European customers in the last 60 years and Boeing’s advanced defence platforms are in service with 23 European armed forces. In addition, Boeing provides unparalleled aerospace services to more than 350 European customers.

Boeing Europe is strengthening its presence by investing in new facilities and leading-edge research as well as through advancing educational, environmental and social programmes that support the European Union’s long-term goals. In 2018, Boeing opened its first production facility in Europe in Sheffield (UK), to manufacture high-tech components for Boeing’s Next-Generation 737, 737 MAX and 767 aircraft.

Over the last 3 years, Boeing sourced €25 billion from hundreds of European suppliers. We are also very proud of a recently announced investment of more than €4 million with Newton Europe into a joint pan-European STEM project.

Boeing supports around 27 key corporate citizenship programmes in 11 European countries, focusing on education, environment and civic engagement. We aim to inspire young people in the areas of science, technology and mathematics (STEM). We inspire the dreamers of tomorrow and make possibilities happen.

BELGIUM + EU:

We work with the European institutions in Brussels to best understand where our investments will make the most impact in the European Union. Through innovative STEM projects targeted at different focus areas and working across several member states, we can best build the capacity of future pioneers to succeed in a constantly evolving world.

UK & IRELAND:

Boeing has had a long-term commitment to investing in the communities in which we live and work in the UK and Ireland. Through partnerships with strategic charities, Boeing focuses on making a difference by developing 21st century STEM skills to nurture future innovators as well as supporting vibrant communities and our Military & Veteran heroes! NORDICS

In the Nordics, Boeing partnered with FIRST Scandinavia, to give children aged 10+ first-hand flight experiences and to introduce aviation-related STEM education to high school students. With FIRST, Boeing launched a Newton Flight Academy in Bodø & Sandefjord, Norway. Boeing & FIRST continue working with teachers to improve STEM education in the region. More information here.

FRANCE:

Boeing engagement initiatives with French communities focus on employment and education. Since 2015, Boeing France partners with Fédération Léo Lagrange, offering a range of STEM activities for kids aged 11-15. In total, +1.500 teenagers are benefitting from the program thanks to 33 Léo Hub centers (“Job Hubs”) all across France. More information here.

GERMANY:

In Germany, Boeing has established several Science Learning Labs in preschools and elementary schools. These labs support teachers’ professional development in science education and inspire young kids to pursue STEM education. Boeing’s Magical Physics project in Germany teaches children STEM focused experiments using recycled household objects. More information here.

Italy:

In Italy, Boeing has been a committed community partner for more than 13 years. Boeing’s engagement portfolio in Italy consists of “STEM 4 future” , an educational project in Robotics and Coding, and “Svitati per l’Ambiente”, a project that aims at inspiring primary school students to gain fundamental knowledge of sustainability and environmental protection. SPAIN:

In Spain, Boeing’s Global Engagement portfolio focuses on 21st century skills development through two educational projects. A daily after-school homework club for Primary and Middle School Students, and STEM workshops in Robotics, 3D printing and Cybersecurity for High School Students.
