The newest member of the 787 Dreamliner family — the 787-10 — debuted Friday in front of U.S. President Donald Trump and thousands of Boeing South Carolina employees, VIPs, customers and suppliers.

“What’s happening here at Boeing South Carolina is a true American success story,” said Boeing Chairman, President and CEO Dennis Muilenburg. “In just a few short years, our team has transformed a greenfield site into a modern aerospace technology and production facility.”

Before speaking to the crowd, Trump met with South Carolina production teammates to discuss the manufacturing process.  “We’re here to celebrate American engineering and American manufacturing,” Trump said. “As your president I will do everything I can to unleash the power of the American spirit.”

The 787-10, built exclusively in North Charleston, will be prepared for its first flight in the coming weeks.
