Kate Schaefer is vice president of Commercial Modifications, Engineering & Specialty Products organization in Boeing Global Services. In this role, she focuses on bringing customers greater lifecycle value while expanding Boeing’s internal capabilities. Schaefer oversees Boeing’s engineering-based aftermarket offerings for customers, including freighter conversions, and interior and air frame modifications. Additionally, she works across the Boeing enterprise to develop and implement a long-range business plan and strategy in vertical segments, as well as joint ventures that support these segments

Before coming to Boeing in June 2019, Schaefer was group vice president of Moog Aircraft Group, where she was part of the senior leadership team responsible for supplying flight control systems to all major military and commercial aircraft manufacturers around the world, including Boeing and Airbus during entry in service of the 787 Dreamliner and A350 commercial airplane programs, respectively. She concurrently served as director of Global Supply Chain. 

Before these roles, Schaefer was general manager for Commercial Global Support Services at Moog, where she successfully implemented a new services model to ensure long-term growth. She has also held numerous senior leadership positions at aerospace companies around the world, including HEICO Aerospace and AAR, where she honed her sales and marketing, business development, program management and supply chain industry experience.

Schaefer, who is fluent in English and German, earned a degree in business administration from the University of Wales and a master’s degree in international business from the University of Durham.
