Elizabeth Lund is senior vice president and general manager of Airplane Programs for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, overseeing the 737, 747, 767, 777/777X and 787 production programs. She is responsible for the production and delivery of all commercial aircraft and meeting customer commitments with an emphasis on safety and quality. She also chairs the Boeing enterprise Program Management Process Council and serves as a member of the executive council.

Lund previously served as the vice president and general manager of Commercial Airplanes Supply Chain, where she had responsibility for the overall strategy, contracting, daily management and development of internal and external supply chains that support the manufacture and service of all Boeing commercial airplanes. The Supply Chain team, at the time encompassed nearly 3,000 suppliers from 41 countries.

Previously, she was vice president and general manager of the 777/777X program, and oversaw design, development, certification, production and delivery. She was also the leader of the Boeing site in Everett, Wash., and oversaw regulatory compliance, community interaction and delivery operations.

Lund earlier served as vice president and general manager of the 747 program, where she led the introductions of both the 747-8 Freighter and 747-8 Intercontinental. She was responsible for the design, development, certification, production and delivery of all 747 models.

Before joining the 747 program, Lund was vice president and general manager of the 767 program as well as deputy program manager of the U.S. Air Force KC-X Tanker program.

Previously, she was vice president of Product Development for Commercial Airplanes, and led development of new and derivative airplane products; managing the research and development plan; supporting technology programs, airplane concept centers and environmental performance strategy.

Earlier in her career, Lund held numerous executive leadership positions in engineering, program management, manufacturing and supplier management across Commercial Airplanes, including the Interiors Responsibility Center and Fabrication. Her experience includes Lean transformations such as the 777 moving line, strategic development, work statement management and responsibility for the airplane level configuration, as well as technical and safety aspects of the 737.

She has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Tulsa and a master’s degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering from the University of Missouri.
