Kim Pastega is vice president of Manufacturing and Safety for Boeing Commercial Airplanes and chair of the Boeing Manufacturing Operations Council. She assumed her new role effective January 1, 2024. She leads the focus on driving manufacturing excellence and adopting standardized best practices across the global organization. Pastega is responsible for ensuring the Commercial Airplanes global production system consistently operates in an aligned, integrated and effective manner. Additionally, she leads Commercial Airplanes’ focus on Environment, Health and Safety, including workplace safety initiatives.

Prior to this assignment, Pastega served as vice president and general manager of the Boeing 767 program leading production and delivery of the versatile 767 family, including the fuel-efficient 767 Freighter and 767-2C tanker variant. Pastega also held responsibility for the Boeing Everett site in Washington state. She previously held the 767 leadership role in 2011, when the company won a historic order from the U.S. Air Force for the KC-46 Pegasus program, based on the 767-2C.

Previously, Pastega was vice president and general manager of Boeing Fabrication, the largest supplier to Commercial Airplanes, where she led a global operation of manufacturing sites and thousands of employees producing components, parts, tools, kits and assemblies to meet Boeing’s needs. Pastega was also vice president of Supply Chain Delivery and Performance as part of the MSCO (Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Operations) organization; she led Boeing’s Supply Chain Global Field Operations and Supply Chain readiness team.

Since joining Boeing in 1990, Pastega has held a range of engineering, program management and operations leadership positions in Commercial Airplanes and in Boeing Defense, Space & Security. As vice president of Fabrication for Defense, Space & Security, she was responsible for consolidating sites and developing an integrated strategy.

Earlier assignments include vice president of Production System Operations for the 787 Dreamliner program, director of 777 Manufacturing, deputy program manager and engineering lead for the 777 Freighter program and chief engineer at the Fabrication Interiors Responsibility Center in Everett.

Pastega earned a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from Iowa State University, where she is a member of the College of Engineering Advisory Board. She also serves on the board of the YWCA Seattle | King | Snohomish.
